Notice: Annual assessment for undergrounding improvements

In the 2016 Town-Wide referendum, voters approved the use of General Obligation Bonds paid back through special assessment on all Town properties to fund the Undergrounding of Utilities Project. The assessment levied on each property is based on a formula that takes into account the reliability, safety and aesthetics undergrounding provides to each unique property. Recommended by the Underground Utilities Task Force and approved by the Town Council, the use of an annual special assessment is a fair, efficient and effective means of funding the Undergrounding Project.

The Town has sent public notices to each property owner with their assessment amount. The letter sent is not a bill, but a notice about the assessment and the upcoming public hearing.

A public hearing will be held at 5:01 p.m. on July 12, 2017, in the Town of Palm Beach Town Council Chambers, 360 South County Road, Palm Beach, Florida for the purpose of receiving public comment on the proposed Underground Utility Improvements and the special assessments and their collection on the ad valorem tax bill.

If there is a mistake on your notice, it will be corrected. If you have any questions regarding your assessment, please contact the Town of Palm Beach at (561) 835-4631, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
